superficial fashion talk part II

Today was a fantastic shopping day for me.

Walked by an insane lineup in front of Louis Vuitton in SoHo. Massive party. I think I saw Lil' Kim being escorted in. Now THAT'S a party I gots to get some glist for next time, seen.

4 vintage Beatles buttons (one for each Beatle) with crazy caricatures of the Fab 4 from St. Marks.

A great sale at Joe's cds. Last time I got a lot of the V Classics and Planet V d&b comps for about $9 each. This time, they were having a 25% off sale on top of the already crazy prices for new cds.

For about $3 each, I got Gangstarr's latest album, Freestylers' new album and a garage comp by Artful Dodger that I saw at HMV for $24!

The clothing selection was frustrating but I succeeded in finding a few great things. I REALLY wanted some limited edition Lacoste polos but they didn't have my size. They were only $39 in NYC at Bloomingdales!

They also did not have our selection of Lacoste wristbands that we have in Toronto.

I settled for the new custom fit Ralph Lauren Purple Label polos at the Polo Store. Fitted for us anorexics. I am such a fucking American classics kind of guy. I try to be funky but always go back to the dull basics.

I bought Donna Karan pinstripe flat-front SoHo fit trousers. They were $250 USD but with the sale and the Price Break markdown of an additional 30% AND the 15% off with my Macy's card, it was a steal.

I found that great grey shirt by Michael Kors lower line that I have been sporting a lot in Toronto. It retails for about $100 in Canada but I got it for fucking $14 USD!!! $14 for a dress shirt!

Almost bought Seven jeans but decided on getting a pair of 4You's instead. $19 USD! I tried on the same pair at Yorkdale for $99 CDN!

Even the Calvin Klein Collection was on sale. I tried on a beautiful dress shirt that was originally $275. It was only $19! Didn't fit though. I also tried on a $699 Calvin Klein suede motorcross jacket that was on sale for $200. I was going to buy it but it had a little stain on the shoulder.

Walked over to Ralph Lauren and almost everything was on sale. The RLX stuff is nice and I wanted some zip-ups but again, I already had too much.

All in all, a good shopping trip today.

And got to top it off with some good lime iced green tea. And a couple of pints with Max, a musician that I am taking photos for soon.

He is working on his techno stuff in nyc and will need a cover for his cd.
